Uzhgorod National University is one of the leading universities in Ukraine. It has a rich history of more than six decades, in the field of medical education across the globe. Its holds its inception in the year 1945 and since then there was no looking back. Known for its quality education and practical exposure towards the latest development in the field of medical science, the university is a dream destination for medical aspirants in Ukraine and abroad. Uzhgorod National University holds the 4th level accreditation and its courses and curriculum are as per the European standards of Education. Global organizations like WHO, UNESCO and other medical agencies has recognized its educational degrees which make it one of the most sought after medical college among students.
For 70 years the University has developed its own school of teaching, scientific and educational traditions. A total of 1275 scientific and pedagogical workers work at UzhNU ,among them 146 doctors of science, professors and 698 candidates of sciences, associate professors. The University trains specialists in 8 areas of educational qualification level "junior specialist", 53 areas of bachelor's degree, 101 specialties of educational and qualification levels "master" and "specialist".
Currently, about 13 thousand 906 students study at UzhNU. Uzhgorod National University has three priority tasks - increasing the number of foreign students, developing double degree programs, increasing the amount of grants involved in the modernization of the university. Today, the university works with more than 116 partners from 24 countries.
There is a cooperation agreement between Uzhgorod National University and the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk (Poland), which enables Uzhgorod students of many specialties to study in the same specialties at the state Polish higher education institution.
Each year, the University sends over 400 faculty, research assistants, graduate students and doctoral students to abroad for joint research, internships and participation in international scientific and practical conferences. About the same number of foreign partners the university accepts every year.
To all of the above can be added a feature such as leisure and sports in the dormitories of the University, which is home to about 4 thousand students. In each hostel there are gyms equipped with different types of simulators. You can visit them at any time for free. Students also organize themselves into groups to study different types of dance, acting, poetry and music groups, bodybuilding classes, arm wrestling, and hand-to-hand combat.
