Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan, officially known as Republic of Uzbekistan is a Central Asian nation, known for its sites linked to the Silk Road, the ancient trade route between China and the Mediterranean. Its capital and largest city is Tashkent. The cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Tashkent have histories that extend back to ancient times.

Uzbekistan is a major producer and exporter of cotton. It is the largest electricity producer in Central Asia. Uzbekistan is the main producer of machinery and heavy equipment in Central Asia. Over the centuries, the territory of what is now Uzbekistan has produced great Scholars, Poets and writers.
